Karman is an Italian company that creates both indoor and outdoor lighting. It was founded in Fossombrone, in the heart of Italy’s Marche region in 2005 from the creative insight and entrepreneurial spirit of Davide Diamantini. The roots may be Italian, but the company has a strong presence operating amongst international markets, including Canada. Karman makes decorative lighting that argues with itself on purpose. Classic shapes rendered in materials you don’t expect: concrete, ceramic, rope, plaster. A chandelier that looks cast rather than assembled.

You’ll reach for Karman where a room needs one object people notice, and where the rest of the lighting is doing its work quietly. Hospitality mostly: restaurants, bars, hotel lobbies, the occasional office reception that wants to look like neither. Their collections use a range of materials and light sources.
